SAVE A LIFE TODAY

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

This is an e-mail sent to me and I am sharing this with you. It may save your life or the life of someone who is dear to you. Read and Learn! Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. A lack of recognition to the signs of stroke can lead to death, cause the stroke victim to suffer severe brain damage and or Paralysis. According to the author of this article doctors say a by stander can now recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S * Ask the individualto SMILE.
T * Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)
(i.e. It is sunny out today?)
R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.*If the person has trouble speaking, raising their arms or smiling this is an indication of a stroke call 911 immediately.
*New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue
Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or theother this also is an indication of a stroke.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved. Will you help to save a life today?
